Alcohol and caffeine (or other stimulants) can generate a nice euphoric feeling upon its moderate arrival but occasionally it can twang your nervous system as it departs your body.

This in turn can bring about anxious feelings or impact sleep.

Anxiety and Stress can be significantly heightened once the drinking has stopped and sobriety returns.

This is were the vicious circle of self-medicating can originate to avoid withdrawal.
